Differences between Asian and American cultures and management styles will be the topic of a one-day seminar Saturday, May 5, at the Eugene McDermott Library on the campus of The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Sponsors of the event are the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Chinese Institute of Engineering, Raytheon, and The UTD School of Management (SOM).
The seminar will feature sessions on differences between Asian and American values and styles of communicating. There also will be a session on effective project management. Speakers include Dr. Diane S. McNulty, SOM associate dean for external affairs; Jim Joiner, director of the SOM Project Management Program; and Garry Johnson, an expert on comparative international management and president of INSERV, a professional services company that provides international business preparation.
