Off-Broadway’s second-longest running musical is coming to The University of Texas at Dallas. I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships.
Starting with that awkward first date, and the perils of blind dating, the play moves through marriage, parenthood, kids leaving home, divorce and to the golden years, always with tongue firmly in cheek.
The musical, directed by Kathryn Evans, runs at 8 p.m., April 28 – 30 in the University Theatre on the UT Dallas campus. The performance is free.
Written by Tony Award-winning playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro and composer Jimmy Roberts, the musical comedy was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway musical in 1997. DiPietro was a 2010 Tony Award winner for Memphis – both for best original score written for the theatre and best book of a musical.
