Dr. Lloyd Jeff Dumas, professor of economics and political economy at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), will appear on The Talk Show on Dallas public radio station KERA on Wednesday, June 14, from noon to 1 p.m.  Dumas and host Krys Boyd will discuss a new policy paper authored by Dumas about possible economic opportunities associated with steps to mitigate global warming.

The Dumas report, “Seeds of Opportunity – Climate Change:  Between Complacency and Panic,” states that global warming, while a significant threat, may also hold the potential for generating substantial profits and creating large numbers of jobs if private sector firms and government focus on finding practical solutions to the problem.  The document was prepared for the nonprofit, nonpartisan Civil Society Institute.

The Talk Show is broadcast on 90.1 FM and is also available online at http://www.kera.org/radio/talkshow/.
