“This tournament demonstrates a true partnership of all our constituents – alumni, community leaders, the city of Richardson, and university faculty, staff and students,” said Dr. Calvin D. Jamison, vice president of business affairs. “Golf is a great vehicle for making a very positive contribution to this campus.”
Prizes include a four-day trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The entry deadline is April 9.
Money raised from the tournament is split between two endowments: the Betty and Gifford Johnson Graduate Scholarship and the Patti Henry-Pinch Undergraduate Scholarship.
The former is named for the former president of the predecessor to UT Dallas, the Southwest Center for Advanced Studies, and the latter is named for a member of the University’s development board.
“We can provide financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students and have a lot of fun doing it,” said Dr. Austin Cunningham, dean of graduate studies and event co-sponsor.
Awards will be given for first-, second- and last-place finishes. All participants will be eligible for special drawings at the awards ceremony after the tournament.
Registration is limited to 150 participants. Participants can sign up individually or in teams.
Registration is $100 per player and includes green fees, golf cart, prizes, lunch and a light buffet.
Tournament registration and lunch will start at noon the day of the tournament. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m.
