Dallas public radio station KERA (90.1 FM) will broadcast a debate at 7 p.m. tonight about the justification of a possible war involving the U.S. and Iraq. The debate, which took place last Monday evening in Dallas, features Dr. Lloyd “Jeff” Dumas, professor of economics and political economy in UTD’s School of Social Sciences, and Sterling Burnett of the National Center for Policy Analysis.
Both participants were asked the question, “Is war with Iraq Justified?” Dumas articulated the “con” position, while Burnett argued the affirmative stance. The debate was moderated by Marla Crockett, host of KERA’s The People’s Agenda with Marla Crockett.
Dumas also is scheduled to participate in a debate about the North Korean political and military situation at 8 p.m. tonight at Lynch Auditorium on the campus of the University of Dallas in Irving. The event is part of the university’s “Bradford Debates” series.
