Dr. Doug Harris, associate dean of the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), is scheduled to participate in a discussion about the growing problem of cyber crime on the Glenn Mitchell show, a KERA public radio program, at noon Wednesday, June 12.
Harris and fellow computer crime expert Millie DeAnda, executive director of the Greater Dallas Crime Commission, will talk about the causes and effects of cyber crime, as well as about UTD’s newly formed Digital Forensics and Security Institute.
The institute is one of the first establishments of its kind in the United States and will encompass a degree program that offers such courses as understanding security, digital forensics encryption, secure wireless and hardware networks and safety and security within computer or digital networks.
The program will air live on 90.1 FM beginning at noon and last approximately 30 minutes.
