UTD to Host Free Concert Featuring Rock Bands Bowling For Soup and Blue October

UTD to Host Free Concert Featuring Rock The Office of Student Life at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) will host a free concert featuring the bands Bowling For Soup and Blue October on Thursday, March 25, on the UTD campus. Texas natives Bowling For Soup currently are touring the United States and will embark on a Japanese tour in May. In 2003, the band’s single, “The Girl All the Bad Guys Want,” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “ Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal” category. In addition to its three studio albums on the Jive Records label, Bowling For Soup has contributed to soundtracks for the movies “Crossroads,” “The New Guy” and the upcoming Wes Craven horror film “Cursed.” Blue October’s single, “Calling You,” is featured on the soundtrack for the movie “American Wedding.” The band’s newest album, “History for Sale,” was released by Universal Records in 2003. The band currently is on tour in Texas and the Midwest. The concert is free and will be held in the Student Activity Center.
