Speakers from two of the nation’s most successful employee-owned businesses will discuss models of their companies at a seminar Friday, December 14, sponsored by The U.T. Dallas Center for Information Technology and Management. The seminar, which will be held from 8 a.m. to noon in Green Commons on the UTD campus, is free and open to the public, but seating is limited to 50.
Sam Boyd, Sr., vice president of program operations for the nation’s largest privately held, employee-owned company, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) will be the lead-off speaker. SAIC, based in La Jolla, Calif., has more than 46,000 employees and does $5.9 billion in government contracting per year.
The panel’s second speaker will be Ilene Colina, vice president of human resources at Science and Engineering Associates (SEA) of Albuquerque, N. M. Ms. Colina will present the employee-ownership model for SEA, a nationally recognized technology company whose business portfolio includes more than $1 billion in information technology and enterprise management contracts.
There will be a round-table discussion with a question and answer period following the presentations.
