Called “Forget Me Not 2001: Kids Day on Capitol Hill – Help Homeless Kids Blossom,” this is a national dialogue on
homelessness and the ways in which student, schools, communities and government can address the issue. The
Communication and Learning Center at The University of Texas at Dallas’ School of Human Development is supporting
the initiative.
Congressman Martin Frost of Dallas will participate in the teleconference from the UTD site.
Homeless students and administrators from the Dallas Independent School District will also participate.
Hosting the event at UTD is the Partnerships for the Education of Homeless Children, directed by Dr. George W. Fair,
dean of UTD’s School of General Studies.
A student from Plano who has worked to assist homeless students will participate in the broadcast from Washington as
part of a panel of students.
