Art exhibitions are finding a new home at The University of Texas at Dallas this fall.
The University recently unveiled a new 6,000-square-foot visual arts gallery complex with a show that celebrates the works of noted alumni artists. “Critical Mass” highlights 45 artists who received visual arts degrees from UT Dallas. The gallery is on the northwest corner of campus in the Synergy Park North 2 building, and the exhibition runs through Nov. 11.
Also, the Derive Art exhibition “Like a Tornado Touching Down, The Dream is Connected to the Dreamer” opened last month on the third floor of the Administration Building. Greg Metz, senior lecturer in the School of Arts and Humanities, curated the exhibition, which includes contemporary pieces that represent a unique approach in carrying out the artists' research. It runs through Nov. 17.
