Dallas Mayor Laura Miller is scheduled
to visit The University of Texas at Dallas’ (UTD) Callier Center for Communication Disorders next
week to call attention to the month of May’s designation as Better Hearing and Speech Month.

Mayor Miller will meet with Callier Center employees
at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, in the main lobby of the facility, located at 1966 Inwood Road in
Dallas. Mayor Miller and Callier Center Director Dr. Ross J. Roeser are expected to make brief remarks.

Since 1927, the month of May has been designated as
Better Hearing and Speech Month in order to raise awareness of speech and language disorders that
affect an estimated 14 million Americans.

Established in 1962, the Callier Center is nationally
recognized for advances in the treatment and prevention of hearing, speech and language disorders
that affect individuals of all ages, from infants to seniors. The center educates future clinicians
and researchers, offers state-of-the-art clinical and educational services and conducts innovative
research.
