Starting today, March 29, the Texas Department of State Health Services has expanded COVID-19 vaccination eligibility, which now allows anyone age 16 or older to register to receive the vaccine. This is good news for us personally and for UT Dallas.
UT Southwestern Medical Center is currently operating a COVID-19 vaccination site at UT Dallas. The UT Dallas site is located at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center in the center of campus and operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Registration typically opens every Monday and Thursday morning, and no walk-up registrations or vaccinations will be available at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center. Those who qualify for vaccination based on state and federal guidelines — including those who are not currently UTSW patients — are invited to visit the medical center’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration portal and fill out a short questionnaire to begin the process of booking an appointment. More detailed information, including answers to FAQs, are available on UTSW’s vaccination website.
The state has also launched the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler, where visitors may create a profile with basic personal and contact information and then answer a few screening questions to determine priority. The site will show the nearest vaccine sites near your address. Those who wish to sign up can choose between receiving a text message or email to be notified when they’ve been matched with an appointment time.
We encourage all who get the vaccine to use our UT Dallas Voluntary Vaccine Reporting Form.
Our No. 1 priority throughout this past year has been the health and safety of our Comet family. Thank you all for remaining Comets United.
