Students who have ever been pulled over, attended a loud party, or been concerned about their civil liberties may want to attend the Know Your Rights Day workshop on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Student Government is sponsoring the second annual event to help answer students’ legal questions. The free event will be at 7 p.m. in the Conference Center.
The program will include the screening of a video and a presentation from a UT Dallas police officer.
The video depicts several types of encounters with police – in the car, on the street and in a home.
It is designed offer students guidance on how an individual can legally, politely and effectively assert his constitutional rights during an encounter.
Sgt. Rick Bauer is the guest speaker. He will take questions from the audience after his presentation.
