According to U.S. News and World Report’s 2007 graduate business school program rankings, The School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas is the top-ranked fulltime MBA program in the North Texas region and the fourth-ranked program in Texas, behind The University of Texas at Austin (18), Texas A&M University (29) and Rice University (48).

The school is ranked 53rd overall, moving up one place from last year’s listings.  Also notable in the overall rankings, the school’s fulltime Cohort MBA program is listed as 26th in the nation among public colleges and universities, and the fulltime MBA offering is among the top 25 percent of programs in the nation for students placed in jobs within three months of graduation.  The school also is among the top programs in the nation with regard to the grade point averages of its incoming students.

“This recognition of the quality of our School of Management is consistent with what we know to be true from our own observations,” said UT Dallas President David E. Daniel.  “It’s a pleasure to extend my congratulations to Dean Hasan Pirkul and his outstanding faculty, whose untiring efforts have brought the school to the success it enjoys today.”

Dr. Hasan Pirkul, dean of the school, said the rankings are an indication that the school is gaining in its efforts to become one of the nation’s top-ranked business schools.

“This shows we are making progress toward our goal of delivering the highest quality education to our students,” Pirkul stated.

Only the 406 master’s degree programs at business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International are eligible to be considered for the U.S. News rankings.  The publication bases its rankings on both a survey of business school deans and recruiters and several statistical measures of quality, including acceptance rates, students’ grade point averages and GMAT scores.  Also considered is the percentage of students employed at graduation, along with their average starting salary.
