Tellabs, Inc. Chief Executive Officer and President Krish A. Prabhu will discuss the future of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), as well as the challenges of the engineering and telecommunications engineering fields, in a free, public address at The University of Texas at Dallas on Monday, Feb. 19. The talk will be held at 2 p.m. in the TI Auditorium in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science.

The appearance by Prabhu, who formerly held executive positions with Alcatel Telecom and Alcatel USA, is part of the Jonsson School’s celebration of National Engineers Week 2007, Feb. 18-24. The week-long event, celebrated nationally by corporations, government agencies and educational institutions among others, seeks to raise public awareness of contributions made by engineers and to spark student interest in engineering careers.

IPTV employs Internet protocols to deliver television shows and other content over private high-speed networks. Based in Naperville, Ill., with offices in cities worldwide including Dallas and Richardson, Tellabs is a telecommunications infrastructure provider.
