The UT Dallas School of Management recently launched a new version of its Web site that features the school’s latest news on its home page and a navigation system designed to take visitors to any page within a few mouse clicks.

“Technology and the Internet continue to evolve. To stay current, we wanted to incorporate some of the latest trends while also making it easy for visitors to our site to access the information they’re seeking,” says Dr. Varghese Jacob, the school’s senior associate dean who headed the project.

“People’s expectations for a Web site have changed. People now use the Internet as a major source for information on which to act and make decisions. For us, this means having a Web site that serves the needs for our current students – who may be looking for information about a course, computer lab times or registering for the next semester – as well as prospective students – who use the Web as a major source of information to decide which school to attend.”

In addition to its navigation system, the new site’s home page lists headlines announcing the school’s most recent news and accomplishments, as well as links to news media articles about its faculty, students and programs.  It also contains a dynamic events calendar that lists upcoming events at the school and is linked to the university’s popular online Comet Calendar.  The home page is topped by a series of rotating images depicting people and places related to the school.
