Executive MBA Program Earns High Marks

The arrival of rankings season has brought good news for the UT Dallas School of Management.

The Financial Times has ranked the school’s Executive MBA program No. 1 among public universities in Texas.

Overall, the newly released rankings list the UT Dallas Executive MBA program No. 51 worldwide.

The annual Financial Times’ survey gauges the post-graduation effectiveness of Executive MBA programs around the world, focusing on criteria that include salary, career progress, faculty published research and aims achieved.

The results reflect an upward trend in recognition that the school is a highly competitive and influential institution offering one of the top MBA programs in the world, said School of Management officials.

“Achieving this type of national recognition is very important for the School of Management and is truly impressive given that UT Dallas is only 40 years old,” School of Management Assistant Dean Dr. Monica Powell said. “The School of Management and UT Dallas have obtained national recognition that generally takes a century to achieve.”

Other ranked executive MBA programs in Texas include The University of Texas at Austin, Baylor University, Rice University and Southern Methodist University.

The Aspen Institute, a nonprofit devoted to enlightened leadership and thoughtful discourse on critical issues, also recently released standings that place the School of Management among the Top 100 MBA programs and curriculums addressing social, ethical, environmental and sustainability topics. UT Dallas is the only Texas university ranked in the biennial survey, “Beyond Grey Pinstripes,” and it jumped to No. 64 this year, up from No. 86 in 2007.

“The Aspen Institute rankings reflect our commitment to engage – for our students’ sakes – in the upkeep of the world we are training them to take over and improve as business leaders and innovators,” Powell said.
