Bob ProsenRICHARDSON, Texas (May 5, 2004) – Helping business leaders learn how to execute their company’s business plans to achieve maximum bottom-line results will be the focus of a new center at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) School of Management.

In announcing formation of The UTD Prosen Center for Business Advancement today, Dr. David Springate, associate dean for executive education at the university, said he believed the new center’s method of executing business plans was unique in the United States.

On June 10, the center will begin offering a series of multi-part programs entitled “The Five Attributes of Highly Profitable Companies ™,” based on a holistic approach developed by the center’s executive director, Robert A. Prosen. Prosen has spent 25 years in leadership positions at Fortune 1000 and prominent mid-size companies around the world including AT&T, Hitachi, Sabre, NCR and Sprint.

“This is the first time we have partnered with a company to offer a program specifically designed to teach business leaders how to realize the profitable results of effective business plan execution,” Springate said. “Based on his years of successful experience, Mr. Prosen has developed a unique framework and set of tools that go beyond educational theory and apply real-world knowledge to help companies gain the specific actions and answers that, when executed properly, can help transform their companies.”

Prosen is president and chief executive officer of the Prosen Center for Business Advancement, which he founded in Dallas in 2002.

The Five Attributes of Highly Profitable Companies Program will be offered twice monthly during June, July and August at the UTD School of Management. The program focuses on the attributes of superior leadership, sales effectiveness, operational excellence, financial management and customer loyalty. It is designed specifically for vice presidents, directors and mid- to senior-level managers of large companies, mid-size companies run by emerging leaders, high-growth companies and challenged companies seeking ways to affect necessary change.

Prosen noted that over the years his experiences have taught him that organizations whose focus is on results “are cut from a whole difference cloth. The UTD Prosen Center is designed to help such organizations execute their plans and consistently achieve their objectives.”

School of Management Dean Dr. Hasan Pirkul said the school’s partnership with The Prosen Center for Business Advancement was part of an ongoing effort to expand executive-education activities at UTD.

“We continue to proactively reach out to area business leaders with innovative and applied programs that bridge the gap between traditional education and practical application,” Pirkul said. “It is most appropriate for our school to make this innovative approach — designed to help companies improve their performance and profitability — available to area business leaders.”

The cost of attending the program is $2,800, and each program is limited to 40 participants. For registration information, please visit http://som.utdallas.edu/pcba or contact the UTD Prosen Center at 972-883-5907.
