All UT Dallas students, faculty members, researchers and post-docs are invited to a commercialization and business enterprise “boot camp” sponsored by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
The seminar will be 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in TI Auditorium at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science.
The seminar is designed to teach the essentials of technology-based entrepreneurship. Participants will hear lessons from entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, UT Dallas faculty members, legal experts and licensing professionals.

Lecture topics and discussions on the schedule include:
- An overview of technology commercialization.
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities.
- Protecting intellectual property.
- The basics of business plans and business models.
- An overview of startup funding.
- What investors are looking for.
