RICHARDSON, Texas (Nov. 6, 2003) — The Fall Arts Festival, a free extravaganza that features the work of
more than 700 University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) students from over 30 courses in music, visual
arts, theatre and dance, will be held on the UTD campus Nov. 21 and 22.
The festival will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov.
21, and run till 10 p.m., with an art exhibition and reception in the Visual Arts Building, concerts
in the Jonsson Performance Hall (JO 2.604) and theatre and dance performances in the University Theatre.
Performances and the exhibition will resume Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Fall Arts Festival is part of the Rising Stars
series at UTD that highlights bright new talent. This year’s musical performances will include concerts
by the guitar ensemble, string ensemble, wind ensemble, piano, jazz band, UTD chamber singers, UTD
Chorale and voice students. The theatrical and dance performances will feature modern dance, jazz
dance, improvisation and acting. The art exhibition will feature painting, sculpture, drawing, figure
drawing, black-and-white photography, color photography, technical photography and computer-based
art and animation.
