RICHARDSON, Texas (March 11, 2005) — The Clavier Trio, The University of Texas at Dallas’ chamber music ensemble in residence, will perform Spring Dreams:Mostly Duos at the UTD Conference Center on Sunday, April 3, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The trio features three superb musicians: UTD faculty member Arkady Fomin, a violinist in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and artistic director of the New Conservatory of Dallas, cellist Peter Steffens, also of the DSO, and pianist David Korevaar, a member of the Prometheus Piano Quartet and a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The concert will showcase music by Auerbach, Martinu, Schulhoff, Aubert and Beethoven. Steffens and Korevaar will perform six of the Twenty-Four Preludes for Cello and Piano by the multi-talented composer, pianist and poet Lera Auerbach. Fomin and Steffens will play Duos for Violin and Cello by Czech composers Bohuslav Martinu and Erwin Schulhoff, whose life was cut short by World War II. Steffens and Korevaar will perform Spring Sonata #5 Op. 24 by Ludwig van Beethoven. Korevaar will perform the solo Sillages by French composer, conductor and arranger Louis Aubert.
