Symposium on Innovations in Business Valuation To Be Held Nov. 16 and 17 at U.T. Dallas

Innovations in business valuation will be discussed by senior executives of global public accounting and consulting firms and academic researchers from the Financial Accounting Standards Board and such leading business schools as MIT and Duke at a symposium Nov. 16 and 17 on The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) campus.

The symposium, entitled “Contemporary Challenges in Business Valuation,” will focus on a variety of questions pertaining to business valuation, including new paradigms for reporting information on value creation and future cash flows, the impact of taxation on value-creating decisions and the use of financial and non-financial metrics for value drivers and intangible assets.

The 1:30-to-6 p.m. sessions on Nov. 16 will feature panel discussions and presentations about contemporary challenges and innovative practices in business valuation. The Nov. 17 sessions, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., will present current research on these topics.

Presenters also will include academic researchers from Intangibles Research Center at New York University, Rice University, the University of Washington and UTD and senior executives from Andersen, Business Valuation Services, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
