DALLAS (June 9, 2003) – In celebration of
its 20th anniversary, Intervoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: INTV), a world leader in converged voice and data
solutions, today announced that it will fund a special commemorative anniversary scholarship for
a student at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) for the 2003-2004 academic year.

The company will donate one half of one academic year’s
tuition to a deserving undergraduate student with an outstanding academic record who is pursuing
a degree in electrical engineering in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science
at UTD.

Candidates for the one-time, non-recurring scholarship
will be reviewed in late summer, and the final selection will be made by the dean of the Jonsson
School prior to the fall semester.

The Jonsson School currently enrolls nearly 3,700 students.
It was the first school in the country to offer an ABET-accredited B.S. degree in telecommunications
engineering and last fall received approval to begin granting the nation’s first Ph.D. degree in
telecommunications engineering. The school is one of only a handful in the U.S. that offer undergraduate
and doctoral degrees in software engineering.

“The University of Texas at Dallas has enjoyed
a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Intervoice,” said Carlos G. Peña, UTD’s
vice president of university advancement and governmental relations. “UTD is pleased to celebrate
this milestone anniversary with Intervoice, and we are honored to be included through this unique,
special scholarship opportunity for one of our fine engineering students.”

“As we celebrate 20 years of innovation, we also
want to make a contribution to the community and to the future of technology,” said David W.
Brandenburg, CEO and Chairman of Intervoice and member of the UTD Development Board. “Intervoice
was founded by two engineers, and we are excited to recognize a student with a demonstrated competency
and passion for the technical field. The Jonsson School is one of the fastest-growing schools of
engineering and computer science in the country and we are thrilled to help chart its growth.”

Earlier this year, Intervoice announced the establishment
of a research center at UTD aimed at furthering the ease-of-use of voice technology and the humanization
of automated conversation systems. As part of a five-year sponsorship, the Intervoice Center for
Automated Conversational Technologies, located within UTD’s Human Language Technology Research Institute
in the Jonsson School, currently has two permanent employees, a linguist and a software engineer
dedicated to its mission. Intervoice has equipped the center with a commercial interactive voice
response (IVR) system to enhance the UTD curriculum as well as support research on natural conversational
systems.
