A familiar face to UT Dallas’ student workers is offering her expertise to colleagues far beyond the campus after her recent election as leader of the Southern Association of Employment Administrators.

Nancy Lozano, the university’s student employment coordinator, took over last month as president of the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators (SASEA).

Lozano started at the UT Dallas Career Center as an administrative assistant in 2000 and was promoted a year later to her current position.  She oversees the handling of all information regarding the student employment process, including the federal and state work-study programs.

She honors student workers with an annual Student Employee of the Year Award ceremony and reception. Student workers with a sweet tooth also appreciate her organization of an ice cream social each year.

Lozano had been a SASEA board member before accepting the president’s job. She was elected to the board of the National Student Employment Association.

SASEA is a non-profit association of professionals involved with programs for students who work while attending college. Members include individuals and institutions associated with the administration and support of student employment in post secondary educational programs and government, private, community or civic organizations.
