Assistant VP of Undergraduate Admission Named

Seasoned enrollment services professional Greg Morris recently joined UT Dallas as the assistant vice president for undergraduate admission in the Office of Enrollment Management, where he will lead undergraduate recruiting efforts on behalf of the University.

Morris joins UT Dallas with more than 10 years’ experience in admissions and program management.  According to Curt Eley, vice president for enrollment management, one of Morris’ most important charges will be to meet key institutional goals for freshman and transfer enrollment.

“Our freshman profile — the academic pedigree of our freshman class — is among the three highest for Texas universities,” Eley said.  “Greg brings the talent and know-how to help us achieve our targeted 3 percent annual growth in enrollment, while still maintaining or improving that very important freshman profile.”

Morris said he looks forward to helping recruit talented high school and transfer students from across the state and beyond. 

“Finding bright, high-achieving students is a lot like putting together a challenging puzzle, making sure all the pieces fit to form a perfect picture,” Morris said.  “I’m excited about the caliber of scholars we already attract, and I’m looking forward to adding more top-notch recruits to our student body.

In addition to freshman recruiting, Morris will work on the Comet Connection program, which is designed for students who begin at a community college and have plans to complete their four-year degree at UT Dallas.

The University has Comet Connection transfer agreements with all 50 public community colleges in the state, as well as Texas’ two private community colleges.

Prior to joining UT Dallas, Morris spent four years as the associate dean of enrollment and administration at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va.  There, he oversaw undergraduate admissions and recruiting, which included a multi-million dollar traditional and interactive marketing campaign, and served as the chief budget officer for the School of Undergraduate Studies.

Prior to Regent University, Morris worked with the West Virginia Community College System as the executive director for a community college collaborative network, and as the director of off-campus programs with the University of Hawaii System at Honolulu Community College.

Morris is a registered landscape architect in the State of Virginia and is currently a doctoral candidate in higher education administration at George Washington University.
