Model U.N. Team Honored at Conference

The UT Dallas Model United Nations team, representing the Persian Gulf state of Qatar, won a Distinguished Delegation award at the National Model United Nations conference last week.
The members of the team are Erich Bao, Lindsay Bernsen, Dionna Budd, Sophia Joseph, Sara Muehlenbein, Liz Organ, Rachael Patel, Prashant Raghavendran, Tyler Ratliff and head delegate Ryan Henry. The awards were announced in the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations in New York.
More than 300 schools from around the world participated in the event.
In addition to the team award, two UT Dallas students were elected to leadership positions. Dionna Budd was elected as chair of the World Trade Organization, and Sara Muehlenbein was rapporteur for the second committee of the General Assembly.
Molly Wurzer, student leader of the group, prepared the team for their participation but was unable to attend the conference.
Professor Marie Chevrier from the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences is the group’s faculty adviser.
