Qualified international students are encouraged to apply for the Good Neighbor Scholarship Program, which covers tuition for students from other North and South American countries for one full school year.

The program is designed to promote good ties between Texas and Western Hemisphere nations by encouraging academically talented students from those countries to pursue higher education in this state.

The scholarship requirements are listed on the Center for U.S.-Mexico Studies Web site.

Students selected to receive the awards through the Good Neighbor Scholarship Program will attend school tuition-free for 12 months.

The Good Neighbor Scholarship Committee, coordinated by the Office of the Provost, will review applications and endorse candidacies to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Coordinating Board will select the recipients and notify the Office of the Provost, which in turn will notify any student recipients.

Applications must be submitted to the Center for U.S.-Mexico Studies (JO 5.504) by 5 p.m. on Feb. 25. Late applications will not be considered.
