The UT Dallas Service Learning Leadership Council collected more than 400 items for  neighborhood shelters and disadvantaged children in a holiday toy drive that ended Dec. 3.

More than 40 campus leaders volunteered.

The haul included eight bicycles, eight skateboards, sporting equipment, balls, games, dolls, and action figures.

These toys will go to the Network of Community Ministries in Richardson, Dallas Advocacy Center and Family Gateway Shelter.

The Network of Community Ministries has been trying to provide holiday gifts to 1,800 disadvantaged children in the Richardson area.
