Counseling Official is Elected to National Board

Dr. Ellie Hakim, assistant director of the Student Counseling Center, has been elected to the board of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies.

ACCTA is an organization made up of psychology internship training agencies from college and university counseling centers within the United States and Canada. ACCTA provides direction and guidance to hundreds of training directors and internships. It is also an active, vocal participant in national events as they affect and shape psychology education and training.

Dr. Hakim has been a member of ACCTA for six years. She is currently membership chair for the organization and chair of the Training Resources committee.

Dr. Hakim is training director for UT Dallas’ Student Counseling Center’s APA-accredited predoctoral psychology internship program.
