RICHARDSON, Texas (Oct. 28, 2003) – The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Rising Stars Series will present
UTD’s 27th annual Holiday Sing, the university’s longest running cultural tradition, on Sunday, Dec.
7 in the University Theatre. Admission is free, but because of the popularity of this annual holiday
event, it is recommended that patrons arrive early.

This year’s theme, Christmas from Around the World,
will feature carols originating from England, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and
Bohemia. The Children’s Concert at 2:30 p.m. will include sing-along songs and a special visit by
Santa Claus. The Traditional Concert at 7:30 p.m. will feature the UTD Chamber Singers, UTD Chorale
and the Symphonic Brass Quintet, all directed by Kathryn Evans, as well as special Christmas readings.
The audience will be invited to sing along with traditional carols and the Hallelujah chorus from
the “Messiah.”

The Holiday Sing began at UTD 27 years ago with a simple
invitation to the university’s neighbors to visit the campus for a special event. Since then, the
concert has become a favorite tradition for residents of Richardson, Dallas and surrounding areas.
