Truth and Justices: High Court Expert to Speak

Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Linda Greenhouse, best known for her coverage of the U.S. Supreme Court, will address UT Dallas students Wednesday, April 2.

Greenhouse will speak about the Supreme Court at 4 p.m. in the Polykarp Kusch Auditorium in the Founders North Building.  The event is sponsored by the pre-law program in the Office of Undergraduate Education.

During her 30-year career with the New York Times, Greenhouse wrote hundreds of articles about the U.S. Supreme Court and Congress.   In 1998 she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for beat reporting.  The Pulitzer is considered the highest national honor in print journalism.

Greenhouse is the author of Becoming Justice Blackmun, a best-selling biography of Justice Harry Blackmun whose 24-year tenure on the Supreme Court ended in 1994.  She also regularly appears on Washington Week, a public affairs program aired by PBS.

Greenhouse graduated from Radcliffe College at Harvard University and holds a master’s of studies in law from Yale Law School.

“Linda Greenhouse is the most knowledgeable person about the contemporary Supreme Court.  Having her at UT Dallas is a wonderful educational opportunity for our students,” said Anthony Champagne, Ph.D., a professor of political science in the school of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences and the director of the pre-law program.
