Dr. Franklyn Jenifer, president
of The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), will be interviewed by popular Dallas talk show host
Glenn Mitchell on KERA 90.1 radio at noon Thursday, Nov. 20, on tuition increases and other issues
related to UTD and higher education.

Jenifer will be in the studio
with Mitchell for the live show.   They will be joined via telephone by Dr. Charles A. Sorber,
interim president of The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).

On Tuesday, the Board of Regents
of The University of Texas System approved tuition increases at UTD, UTA and other U. T. System
universities in Texas, as permitted by a tuition deregulation measure enacted by the Legislature
earlier this year.   The measure was prompted by a $10-billion budget shortfall and subsequent
cuts in funding.   Previously, all tuition increases at state institutions had to be approved
by the Legislature.

Jenifer, who joined UTD as president in
1994, announced in October that he plans to retire as head of the university but will remain in office
until a successor is selected.
