UT Dallas welcomed Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst to campus on Thursday for a tour of two key research facilities and discussions on the need for more Tier One universities in Texas.

Dewhurst visited the Center for BrainHealth and later the Natural Science and Engineering Research Laboratory (NSERL).

He was joined by State Sen. Florence Shapiro; former UT System Regent Robert Estrada; BrainHealth Advisory Board Chair Debbie Francis and her husband Jim Francis; and Texas Instruments Senior Vice President Phil Ritter.

UT Dallas President David E. Daniel, Provost Hobson Wildenthal and Amanda Rockow, vice president for public affairs, greeted the dignitaries; and Dr. Bruce Gnade, vice president for research, led the tour of NSERL.
