UT Dallas hosted three state lawmakers for briefings and tours in April.

Reps. Jim Jackson of Carrollton, John Otto of Dayton and Jim Keffer of Eastland discussed the upcoming legislative session with President David Daniel and Vice President Amanda Rockow.

Dr. Sandra Chapman with the Center for BrainHealth, Dr. Tom Linehan with the Institute for Interactive Arts and Engineering and Dr. Ray Baughman with the Alan G. MacDiarmid Nanotech Institute briefed the legislators about key research and student initiatives.

The legislators also each took time to teach Dr. Greg Thielemann’s undergraduate honors course “The Modern Political Economy of Texas,” where they discussed Texas health care policy, taxes and economic development.

They also toured the Natural Science and Engineering Research Laboratory.
