UT Dallas pre-law majors now have more online resources at their fingertips with the addition of a new legal database – WestLaw’s Campus Research.

For years at Eugene McDermott Library has offered access to Westlaw, the world’s premier legal database, but it was not available to students directly. Librarians trained to use the database conducted  all the searches.

Now students are able to search for themselves at any time from any place.

The database offers data on  federal and state case law, including cases from the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Code Annotated, the Code of Federal Regulations, American Jurisprudence 2d, and American Law Reports.

There are also some law materials available from the European Union and content from more than 800 law reviews and journals.

Pre-law majors from UT Dallas have been admitted to each of the top 10 law schools in the nation.

In addition, 85 percent of UT Dallas seniors applying to law school were accepted to at least one school in 2007 – the university’s highest acceptance rate ever.
