Youths ranging from elementary school
to high school age from The University of Texas at Dallas’ Callier for Communication Disorders
Children’s Signing Choir will be featured as part of the 2003 Turtle Creek Chorale’s third annual
holiday television special, scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, on WFAA Channel
8 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

The program, entitled “Signs
of Joy,” will feature more than 50 children, some of whom are deaf and some who can hear,
accompanied by the more than 200 members of the world famous Turtle Creek Chorale. The children
will perform a sign-language version of the classic holiday song Silent Night.

The Callier Signing Choir is a
collaboration of UTD’s Callier Center, the Dallas Independent School District and the Dallas
Regional Day School for the Deaf. Participating schools include Louise Wolff Kahn Elementary,
Stonewall Jackson Elementary, Herbert Marcus Elementary, Sudie L. Williams Elementary and W.
W. Samuell High School.
