RICHARDSON, Texas (Aug. 12, 2005) — Mary Medrick and Marilyn Waligore, faculty members in The School of Arts & Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), will host a prescreening of the Memory segment of American television’s only series exclusively dedicated to contemporary art, Art:21, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m., in the Jonsson Performance Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
The program, which is organized in four segments, will premiere on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) Sept. 16, 23, 30 and Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. (check local listings). The Memory segment is scheduled to be aired on Sept. 23.
Associate Dean for the Arts, Kathryn Evans said, “We are pleased to be invited to participate in this wonderful project by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The Memory segment should enrich our students’ understanding of how the past impacts an artists’ creative expression.”
