The University’s premier performing ensembles, the UT Dallas Chamber Singers, directed by Kathryn Evans, and the UT Dallas Jazz Band, directed by Kelly Durbin, come together to feature the music of Harold Arlen on Friday, Feb. 29, and Saturday, March 1, in the University Theatre at 8 p.m. 

The concerts are free and open to the public. 

The Over the Rainbow concert will include famous Arlen songs Over the Rainbow, Stormy Weather, I’ve Got the World on a String, One for My Baby (and One More for the Road), That Old Black Magic, Let’s Fall in Love and Paper Moon.

The concert will also feature swing favorites It Might as Well Be Spring by Richard Rodgers, Embraceable You by George Gershwin and In the Mood by Glenn Miller.

This year marks the ninth annual concert collaboration of the two groups.

Previous concert tributes have focused on such notable artists as The Manhattan Transfer, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and Cole Porter.
