Dr. Robert Nelsen, professor of literary studies, author and director of the creative writing program at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), will appear on The Talk Show on Dallas public radio station KERA at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Nelsen and host Krys Boyd will discuss the art of writing fiction and some ways to get started.
About the writing process, Nelsen has said, “For me, writing has to be about discovery. If you write what you know, you won’t discover anything. If you write what you don’t know, I think the possibility of discovering something is much greater.”

Before Nelsen, Boyd will talk to artist-sisters Kristine and Joyce Atkins, whose debut novel is about two sisters who find a journal and later learn that the author died under mysterious circumstances.
