The Executive and Professional Development division of The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) School of Management will present two separate interactive workshops addressing issues of accounting, financial analysis and value creation Nov. 27 and 28 and Dec. 4 and 5.

The Nov. 27 and 28 workshop, “Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers: Getting on Top of the Numbers Game,” will address the accounting process, the company’s financial statements and interpreting the company’s financial reports. The workshop is intended for mid-level to senior managers whose jobs involve managing non-financial areas, operations and budgets.

The instructors for “Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers” will be three UTD School of Management accounting and information systems faculty members led by Dr. Rajiv Banker. Dr. Banker holds a doctorate in business administration from Harvard University and is Ashbel Smith Chair in Accounting and Information Management and the director of Accounting and Information Management Programs at UTD. He has served as a professor of accounting and management at Carnegie Mellon University and as the Arthur Andersen Chair in Accounting and Information Systems at the University of Minnesota.

Two award-winning UTD accounting and information management faculty members, Dr. Mark Anderson and Dr. Suresh Radhakrishnan, will present the Dec. 4 and 5 workshop, “Financial Analysis and Value Creation.” Addressing managing financial disclosures and the effects of choices of accounting policies on various performance measures, it is intended for managers developing corporate strategy and operating managers with responsibility of financial oversight.

Both Anderson and Radhakrishnan are professionally qualified chartered accountants. Anderson received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, while Dr. Radhakrishnan received his Ph.D. from New York University.

Both workshops will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in the UTD Conference Center. The cost for each workshop is $1,395 and includes course materials, lunch and refreshments.
